Monaco check on Ventola

Monaco are considering a summer move for Atalanta striker Nicola Ventola.

The 28-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and is not expected to extend his second spell with the Serie A side.

He has scored nine goals in 31 appearances this term and has been watched by Monaco scouts in recent weeks.

Ventola, who previously had a brief stint at Crystal Palace, is thought to be keen on the Monaco opportunity, according to reports in France.

Monaco, though, could face competition for Ventola from Torino, who tried to sign the forward during the January transfer window.

Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen's Marko Babic is another summer transfer target for the Principality club.

Babic - adept at playing on the left-hand side - has also been linked with Olympiakos, but Monaco hope to win the race for the Croatia international.
