Monaco midfielder Jaroslav Plasil has been rewarded with a contract extension.

The Czech Republic ace has signed a new deal which ties him to the Principality club until 2009.

Though Plasil does not command a regular place in the starting XI, he is a valued member of Didier Deschamps' squad.

He has spent six years at Stade Louis II and has now decided to prolong his association for a further two seasons.

Plasil recently stated a desire to play in Spain but it appears as though the 23-year-old has put a move to La Liga on hold until later in his career.

In addition, Monaco have handed a first professional contract to young striker David Gigliotti.

The forward, who made his debut last season, has inked a three-year deal after being tipped for a bright future at Stade Louis II.
