PSG keen on Farnerud

French giants Paris Saint Germain are reportedly keen to prise Pontus Farnerud away from Monaco.

French giants Paris Saint Germain are reportedly keen to prise Pontus Farnerud away from title rivals Monaco.

The 24-year-old Sweden international spent last season on-loan at Strasbourg and the player admits it is unlikely he will be returning to the Principality outfit.

''I have talked to the sports director at PSG, their midfield is a bit over crowded right now and they hope to sell a player to make space for me,'' Farnerud told DN.

''They've got the ball right now and they know I am interested.

''Monaco would probably prefer to sell me as I have just one more year left on my contract.

''At the moment, it is Monaco that matters, we will see what happens before the transfer deadline.''
