Monaco produced a stunning second half fightback to come from three goals down to rescue a 3-3 draw at home to Ajaccio.

Didier Deschamps' side had the chance to go clear at the top of the table above Lyon but they move only a point ahead of the reigning champions.

The struggling Corsican side are perilously close to the drop zone but they did not play like a side threatened by relegation as they fired themselves into a 3-0 lead.

Patrice Loko gave the visitors the lead after 25 minutes, before Martial Robin added a second on 36 and a third on 42 minutes.

A stunned Monaco needed the half time interval to regroup, and they reduced arrears five minutes into the second half when Shabani Nonda marked his return to action with a goal.

The Congo striker has been out since August with a serious knee injury and he showed exactly what Monaco had been missing with a goal on his comeback.

Jaroslaw Plasil drew the scores back to 3-2 on 65 minutes and the comeback was well and truly on.

With time running out, Croatian marksman Dado Prso (pictured) sent the Stade Louis II fans wild as he grabbed an unlikely point with a goal in the final minute.
