Plasil opens contract talks

Jaroslav Plasil is discussing a new deal with Bordeaux despite attracting interest from France's top clubs.

Tremoulinas also set to remain with Bordeaux

Jaroslav Plasil is discussing a new deal with Bordeaux despite attracting interest from France's top clubs. The Czech playmaker has been heavily linked with reigning Ligue 1 champions Lille and title hopefuls Lyon. He has, however, been informed by Bordeaux that there are no plans to part with his services. Plasil is prepared to accept that stance and has refused to rule out the possibility of penning fresh terms. "When there is an offer of Champions League football, of course that is attractive," he told L'Equipe on the rumours linking him with a move elsewhere. "But the chairman has told me that he doesn't want me to leave. We will see what happens. "An extension to my contract? We are in talks. We will talk again after training this week. "In football you never know what will happen, but I believe a new contract is possible."

Non-transferable

Bordeaux full-back Benoit Tremoulinas is another to have been linked with an imminent exit, with Lille and Marseille believed to be leading the chase for his signature. Once again, though, there is a desire on behalf of the club to keep the player out of the clutches of a domestic rival. On his future, Tremoulinas said: "I would not have been disappointed to move on. "I had contact with two clubs but for several reasons things didn't go beyond the first round of talks. "The chairman here says I am non-transferable. I am happy at Bordeaux and I love the club, so that is fine. "Things could change, but if I leave Bordeaux it would only be for a bigger club that would allow me to improve. "The Champions League is important and Bordeaux will not be in it for the second season in a row."
