Arsenal are rumoured to be leading the chase for St Etienne midfielder Didier Zokora, but Les Verts are determined to hold out for a sizeable fee.
The Gunners are believed to have leapfrogged Premiership rivals Manchester United in the chase for Zokora, with the player's agent Franck Belhassen claiming The Gunners were just waiting for the green light from St Etienne.
The Ligue 1 outfit have all but resigned themselves to losing Zokora and he could be made available in January.
Sources close to the player suggest Zokora favours working with Gunners chief Arsene Wenger, as the French tactician is a close friend of the midfielder's mentor Jean-Marc Guillou.
Les Verts are aware of the reports and would be willing to strike a deal with The Gunners, but with Manchester United and Chelsea also interested the French side are hopeful of a bidding war.
