Former Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou has revealed that he is only just starting to settle into life at Lille following his summer move.
The 27-year-old Ivory Coast international joined for free from Chelsea in the summer as the Ligue 1 side beat off reported interest from the likes of West Ham, QPR and Everton, among others, in the race to win his signature.
Les Dogues have endured a tough campaign this season and are currently languishing in 10th place, 17 points off the leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
But head coach Rudi Garcia is starting to see the best of Kalou now after moving him into the heart of his attack, where the player is starting to blossom.
He scored during their surprise 3-1 victory at Lyon last week and set up a goal in his side's comfortable 2-0 win at home to Rennes at the Grand Stade Lille Metropole on Friday night.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Kalou said: "I am feeling much better because we are playing well enough. I was happy to score last week and I was also happy with my assist.
"I am starting to play my part and want the coach to be happy with me particularly as he wants to me play in the centre.
"We want to start climbing the table now so we can try and quality for European competition."
