French champions Lille have bolstered their attacking options with the signing of John Jairo Ruiz.

The 18-year-old has joined Rudi Garcia's side on a four-and-a-half year deal from Costa Rica club Deportivo Saprissa.

Among achievements, the Costa Rica under-20 striker scored three goals at the Under-20 World Cup in Colombia last year.

Ruiz's arrival comes after Lille signed French striker Nolan Roux from Stade Brest earlier this week amid media speculation over Moussa Sow, currently at the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal, who is being linked with clubs throughout Europe.
