Hamburg have clinched the signing of David Rozehnal on a three-year deal from Lazio.
The contract for the Czech Republic international also includes the option for an additional season.
Hamburg moved for Rozehnal after Brazilian defender Alex Silva was ruled out for several months with a knee injury.
Rozehnal will be looking to help Hamburg challenge for the Bundesliga title following their fifth-placed finish last term.
The 29-year-old has previously spent time with Sigma Olomouc, Club Brugge and Newcastle earlier in his career.
