Hamburg have announced they are closing in on the signing of defender David Rozehnal from Lazio.
Rozehnal, 29, joined Serie A club Lazio on a permanent deal last summer after a disappointing spell at Newcastle United.
Hamburg have since identified the Czech Republic international as a summer transfer target and are hopeful of tying up an agreement.
"We are in contact with Lazio and the player, but there are still a few things to resolve," said Hamburg spokesman Jorn Wolf to Kicker magazine.
Rozehnal has played 56 times for the Czech Republic and is said to be available for around €4million (£3.5million).
