Celtic are set to miss out on a double deal for Gabriel Tamas and Marko Basa, according to reports in France.
Auxerre defender Tamas has been a summer target for Bhoys boss Gordon Strachan, who is looking to improve his squad.
However, according to L'Equipe, Celtic have decided to pull out of a move for the Romania international.
Le Mans stopper Basa had also been linked with a move to Parkhead, with his French club claiming talks had taken place.
The Serbian has reportedly turned down the contract on offer at Celtic, having also spurned moves to Paris St Germain and Borussia Dortmund this summer.
Hamburg are now in the hunt for Basa, with Martin Jol having money to spend following the sale of Rafael van der Vaart to Real Madrid.
Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow are also keen on Basa, but Hamburg's sporting director Dietmar Beiersdorfer was rumoured to be in France to discuss a deal on Thursday.
