Marseille and Bordeaux maintain 100 per cent records

Second-half goals from Andre-Pierre Gignac and Rod Fanni helped dominant Marseille defeat Sochaux 2-0 and make it two wins from two at the start of the new Ligue 1 season. Gignac opened the scoring in the 54th minute and Fanni netted a stoppage time second as Marseille followed up their 1-0 victory over Reims last time out with another triumph that leaves them level on points with the Ligue 1 pacesetters. The home side had to wait until the second half to finally make the breakthrough, with Gignac winning an aerial duel with Mathieu Peybernes to power a header beyond Cros and give Marseille a deserved lead. But Marseille were unable to finish game off until the 90th minute when Fanni poked home from close range off the underside of the bar to make it 2-0. Ludovic Obraniak scored the only goal as Bordeaux also picked up a second victory with their win over Rennes. Having missed a penalty in the first half, the home side finally broke the deadlock when Obraniak ended a goalmouth scramble in the 75th minute by firing past keeper Benoit Costil. Rennes pressed for a late equaliser but could not find a way through, with Cedric Carrasso's late save from Jean Armel Kana-Biyik ensuring the three points for the hosts. Paris St Germain are still looking for their first Ligue 1 victory of the season after a goalless draw at Ajaccio. The visitors had Ezequiel Lavezzi sent off, while boss Carlo Ancelotti himself saw red in what was another frustrating night for the big-spending side from the capital who deserved no more than the point they left with. Ajaccio were well organised and stubborn at the back, limiting the away side to few chances.
