Sochaux have strengthened their squad with the addition of two players before the January transfer window closed.
Chairman Jean-Claude Plessis was keen to sign a striker and a defender before the deadline.
Sebastien Grax (pictured) and Fousseni Diawara have moved to the Stade Bonal from Monaco and St Etienne respectively.
Defender Diawara had claimed to have joined Bolton, but links up with Sochaux for the rest of the season, while Grax, a striker, has moved for a fee in the region of é¼1.5million (£1million).
"Sebastien Grax is a Sochaux player. He was the priority during the transfer window," a statement said on the club's official website.
"Diawara joins Sochaux on loan until the end of the season."
