Santos sad at Danish exit

Alvaro Santos has revealed his sadness at leaving Copenhagen.

Sochaux's summer signing Alvaro Santos has revealed his sadness at leaving Copenhagen to fulfil his dream of playing in Ligue 1.

The Brazilian striker secured a switch to Sochaux earlier this month, but has fond memories of his time in Denmark where he finished as the highest scorer.

Santos is expecting playing in Ligue 1 to offer fresh challenges, although he is looking forward to proving himself in a new environment.

"It has been difficult to leave because my club was playing important matches, like the first round of the UEFA Champions League," he said to the club's official website.

"So I am a little sad to leave. I am expecting a lot of differences in France, but I will prove my talent.

"Scandinavian football is very different. The style is much more physical there. I have adapted well and I was the leading scorer in the Danish league.

"At the same time, I am a very complete player. I offer a lot of assists. I love French football. I watch a lot of football games on television, so I know the league very well."
