Sochaux have agreed a deal for former France international defender Jeremie Brechet from Real Sociedad.
The 26-year-old has opted to return to his native country after enduring a torrid time abroad since leaving Lyon to join Internazionale in the summer of 2003.
He moved to Real Sociedad the season after, but injury severely hindered his time in Spain and prevented him from shining in La Liga.
Brechet is set to put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal at the Stade Bonal, after being linked with a move to Rangers under former boss Paul Le Guen.
He is the latest signing at the Ligue 1 club after a flurry of transfer activity.
Star striker Ilan looks to have joined St Etienne, while Brazilian striker Alvaro Santos and Slovenian Valter Birsa have been brought in as the new strike partnership.
Santos jumped at the chance to move from FC Copenhagen and is ecstatic to be leaving the Danish giants.
"It means a lot to me. I look forward to play in a new league and face a new challenge." Santos told BT.
"I believe the French league will suit me fine. I have been dreaming of the French league for a long time."
"Additionally, it is important that the family is enjoying themselves and I believe we will do that in France."
The new arrivals have just days to settle in at the club before they kick-off their new league campaign at Les Verts on August 5.
