Sochaux have confirmed they have received an offer from Monaco for Jeremy Menez, but have warned they will have to significantly up the ante in order to land the playmaker.
Menez is one of French football's brightest prospects and has been linked with a summer move away from Sochaux.
Arsenal and Paris Saint Germain are reported to be keen on the 19-year-old, but the first offer has come from the Principality.
It is believed that Menez is eager to head to Monaco, but they have been warned that it will take a sizeable bid to land the rising star of French football.
"Monaco called me to make an offer," said Les Lionceaux chairman Jean-Claude Plessis. "It is a é¼2 million (£1.3 million) one, but that is not enough.
"I want é¼6 million (£3.9 million). I am in no rush and I won't allow a cut-price sale for a player considered as one of the best in his generation."
