Paris Saint-Germain were held by defending champions Lille in the battle at the top of Ligue 1, Ajaccio gave their hopes of avoiding relegation a slight boost with a victory over Rennes, and Sochaux slipped into trouble following defeat to Bordeaux.
Antoine Kombouare's PSG were prevented from regaining top spot after being held to a 0-0 draw by defending champions Lille.
Pre-match attention had focused on the rumoured presence in the capital of David Beckham but, in his absence, PSG were unable to break down their visitors.
The draw took PSG level on points with leaders Montpellier, but they are in second place on goal difference.
Sunday's results
Rudi Garcia's Lille are now unbeaten in 16 league games and crept above Lyon into third place.
Fousseni Diawara scored a late winner as Ajaccio registered just their second win of the season against slumping Rennes.
Diawara converted Johan Cavalli's cross with just seven minutes to go to condemn the visitors to their fifth successive defeat in all competitions.
The win moves Ajaccio on to 12 points, six adrift of safety.
Ludovic Sane's goal gave Bordeaux a win which maintains their upward progress and plunges Sochaux into relegation trouble.
Sane struck in the 22nd minute at Stade Chaban Dalmas to seal a fourth successive home victory for Les Girondins.
However, Mehmed Bazdarevic's Sochaux side have now picked up just one point from the last 15 available, leaving them just one point above the drop zone.
