PSG striker plays down transfer speculation

Mevlut Erding is pleased to be generating interest, but claims his future remains at Paris St Germain. The Turkey international has recently been linked with a summer move to either England or Germany, with Newcastle and Werder Bremen said to be chasing his services. Edring is aware of the rumours but is keen to put any transfer talk to one side until the summer. His target for now is to help PSG wrap up UEFA Champions League qualification, allowing him to fulfil a personal dream. "It is flattering. It proves I have not lost all my qualities," Erding told L'Equipe on the speculation. "For me, though, the future is the next three matches. "My ambition is to secure Champions League qualification. I am focused on that. When I signed for PSG, my dream was to play in that competition wearing this shirt."

Erding has also thanked PSG coach Antoine Kombouare for sticking by him this season when his form took an alarming dip. "I am finding my best again now," he added. "I experienced some difficult times but the coach always supported me. It is thanks to him that I am coming back. "I am not making any excuses for my difficult period. I was not good, that's all. "The criticism about my game was justified because I was hopeless. I can't hide from that. Now I am enjoying my football again."
