Faty set for Rennes stay

Jacques Faty has said he will not be leaving Rennes in the January transfer window.

Jacques Faty has said he will not be leaving Rennes in the January transfer window.

The centre-back's contract expires at the end of the season and he has admitted he is interested in joining Italian giants Juventus.

Faty had previously remained open-minded to the possibility of leaving this month, but he is now looking to stay and mull over his options.

"I have chosen to favour the Rennes proposition so far," he explained.

"It is the one I will study first. I met the officials and I am waiting for the offer from coach Pierre Dreossi.

"I am expecting to play more often and to be offered an attractive contract.

"But I don't ask for the moon. I am linked to my club even if we endure difficult moments.

"I won't leave during winter transfer window."
