Briand restless at Rennes

Rennes starlet Jimmy Briand says he is pondering his future at the French club.

Rennes starlet Jimmy Briand says he is pondering his future at the French club.

The Under-21 international is growing frustrated at coming in and out of coach Pierre Dreossi's plans.

After scoring two goals at the start of the campaign Briand was relegated to the bench, and the forward says he is now thinking hard about his future at Stade de la Route-de-Lorient.

"I never had an opportunity in a long series of matches," said Briand.

"I scored two goals in two matches early in the season, and then I was out of the team in one day, without any explanation.

"I can't really understand. I ask myself some questions about my future."

Promising defender Jacques Faty has already stated his desire to leave the club after attracting interest from Juventus, and Rennes will be keen to ensure that they do not lose both of their gifted youngsters.
