Vahid hits out at snipers

RENNES coach Vahid Halilhodzic has praised his players for the spirit they showed during Saturday`s win over Le Havre.

The win was a massive boost to their hopes of avoiding the drop, and Halilhodzic`s troops ground out a 1-0 win with ten men, having had Francois Grenet sent off on 53 minutes.

Halilhodzic was happy with the effort and also used his after match press conference to hit back at suggestions that there was a lack of unity in the camp.

"This is a heroic victory," he said. "Especially in the second-half when we had ten men following the dismissal of Francois Grenet.

"The guys fought right to the end. Le Havre had chances but my guys did well. They were tired, but did their jobs to the end."

Turning his attentions to the reported troubles at Stade Route de Lorient, he added: "This victory is a welcome one following some bad results.

"I am convinced that my work will pay off.

"This victory gives us much confidence for survival.

"I have read things which do not reflect the truth. There are no problems at Stade Rennes.

"We always have joy in working together, you can ask the players that."
