Saint-Etienne turn down approach from Lille

Saint-Etienne president Roland Romeyer has claimed the club have received and rejected an offer for Dimitri Payet. Lille are reported to be interested in the France forward as they contemplate life without Gervinho, who is expected to leave the club this summer. It is mooted that there is also English sides monitoring Payet's situation, but the 24-year-old's club have no intention of selling. Asked if Saint-Etienne had received a bid for Payet, Romeyer told The Progress: "Yes, but the proposal does not suit us. "There have also been calls from England. But there is no question of letting Dimitri leave at any price."
