Cisse: I won't give up

Marseille striker Djibril Cisse has urged the club's fans for patience.

Marseille striker Djibril Cisse has urged the fans for patience.

Cisse has come under fire after scoring only four goals in 14 appearances since recovering from two broken legs.

However, the striker, who has signed on loan from Liverpool, insists he will do everything he can to prove himself at Stade Velodrome.

"I won't give up. I am with Marseille and I will do everything I can to prove myself," Cisse told La Provence.

"I am not surprised by my difficulties on the pitch. Let me remind you that in two years I have been injured for a year-and-a-half."

The 26-year-old has been booed by l'OM fans in recent weeks and Cisse says their reaction has upset his own mother.

"When my mother is crying on the phone because she doesn't understand why people hate her son, that hurts me," he added.

"I can't stand it. I suffer because she suffers. She doesn't deserve that."
