Sabri Lamouchi is set to extend his stay at Marseille by a further season. The former Monaco star has become a key member of l'OM's side this term and the club hope to keep the player at the Stade Velodrome past the summer.
The 34-year-old joined the club last summer after being released by Serie B side Genoa, and after securing a first-team place in the side, is now expected to prolong his stay in France.
"We are very happy with him, both as a player and a person," said the club's sport director Jose Anigo.
"He is a very important part of our team."
Marseille chairman Pape Diouf added that a deal should be completed in the very near future.
"It shouldn't be a problem," added Diouf.
