Marseille are reportedly interested in signing AS Vita's Congo international Zola Matumona after the 24-year-old impressed French scouts during the African Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Italian club Palermo have already been linked with the midfielder, however, Marseille have begun negotiations with his current club.

The French giants have also been linked with Ivory Coast star Yaya Toure and Cameroon international Alioum Saliou who currently ply their trade in Greece and Turkey respectively.

Meanwhile, defender Bostjan Cesar is unlikely to play again this season after picking up an injury during l'OM's game with Metz whilst coach Jean Fernandez will have an operation this week after suffering gastric problems.

Albert Emon will replace Fernandez on the bench whilst he recovers.
