Nancy could be about to launch a bid for unsettled Marseilles striker Christian Gimenez.
Gimenez has only managed one goal since moving to the Stade Velodrome during the summer, and his distress signals have been picked up by l'ASNL, who look set to try and iron out a loan deal.
Nancy president Jacques Rousselot told l'Est Republicain: "I have contacted Marseilles about it.
"Gimenez went directly from Basle to Marseilles. To enable him to bounce back, l'ASNL would be an ideal transition."
But Rousselot warned fans not to get to excited about the prospect of the Argentinian arriving in Nancy, as he continued: "We are on his case, but this isn't the only option we're pursuing.
"Currently there are almost a dozen clubs in France looking for an attacker."
