Marseille have signed Slovenian stopper Bostjan Cesar from Dinamo Zagreb.Marseille have beaten the transfer deadline to bolster their defence with the capture of Slovenian stopper Bostjan Cesar.
With Bobo Balde's move looking unlikely the French outfit moved to recruit the 23-year-old from Croatian outfit Dinamo Zagreb.
L'OM have been watching Cesar intensely over the past three weeks and have now captured their man after he penned a four-year deal at Stade Velodrome.
The Ligue 1 side had been in talks with Ivica Dragutinovic, although the Standard Liege man opted not to move to France and the versatile Cesar will now be relied upon to provide some steel to a defence that has shipped nine goals in five games.
With the transfer window rapidly closing l'OM president Pape Diouf has not yet ruled out any further activity on the transfer front, with an attacker still a priority at Stade Velodrome.
"The arrival of Cesar will not be inevitably the last movement but it may be also that it is the last one," Diouf told the club's official website.
"A departure could possibly be related to an arrival because we still think of an arrival in the offensive sector."
The French side have been linked with a move for Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse although the former Auxerre man has been crystal clear in his intention to remain at Anfield.
