Marseille are continuing to ponder the signings of Andres Mendoza and Sabri Lamouchi.

Chairman Pape Diouf remains confident he can pull off a swoop for the duo within the next week.

"The situation with Mendoza should be clearer by Friday," explained Diouf. "We found an agreement with his club [Metalurg Donetsk] and our views [on salary] are closer with the player's ones.

"He could be at Marseille on Friday or Saturday.

"We don't abandon the idea of a loan."

Lamouchi is negotiating his exit from Internazionale, after a year on loan at Genoa, and could sign for a year with an option of a second year if all parties agree.

"Sabri Lamouchi will go on talking with Inter on Thursday to cancel his contract, for him to be able to leave his club probably with a fee," added Diouf.

27-year-old Peruvian Mendoza spent five seasons with Brugge and would welcome the switch from Ukraine. He rejected a move to Metz recently.
