French club Marseille have agreed a new two-year contract with influential defender Demetrius Ferreira and are now set to tie-up the futures of several more of their stars.

The Brazilian full back has been in excellent form this season and his signature will be welcomed by the Marseille faithful.

Reserve-team goalkeeper Jeremy Gavanon has penned a three-year contract, whilst the club have also offered a similar deal to promising youngster Mathieu Flamini.

Fulham striker Steve Marlet, who has spent this season on loan at the Stade Velodrome, is likely to remain with the club on a similar deal next season, whilst Abdoulaye Meite is to sign a four-year contract.

Marseille's only major doubt for next season is on-loan midfielder Camel Meriem.

The talented playmaker has been in imperious form since arriving this season from Bordeaux - but Les Girondins are asking ‚é¼8 million for a permanent deal, which could be beyond Marseille's means.
