The Russian striker trained with Kiev during his four-month ban from the game for turning his back on Spartak Moscow.
He was hotly tipped to sign for Dinamo, but opted to move to Stade Velodrome when Alain Perrin`s side came calling.
He signed for l`OM earlier in January, and has now said sorry to the Kiev titans.
"Trust me, I wanted to play for Kiev very much," Sychev told Moscow daily Sport-Express. "I'm grateful for the chance to train with them, for everything they had done and I'm really sorry that things have turned out like this.
"I would like to offer Dynamo my sincere apologies.
"Please understand me, I decided to join Marseille because that contract allowed me to play right away.
"After everything that happened to me, it was hard to resist such an opportunity."
