NANTES' terrible start to the season has meant the club's search for a transfer 'joker' has been intensified.

The French champions have failed to win a game in their opening seven games, and even a 4-1 hammering of PSV Eindhoven on their Champions League opener last week has failed to appease fans.

Les Canaries chairman Robert Budzinski made Marseille's Zoumana Camara (pictured) his number one target, but the French international seems happy at Stade Velodrome.

"Personally, I didn't know anything about it," said Camara of Nantes interest.

"I am happy in Marseille despite all the agitation around us."

Despite Camara's insistence that he is happy, l'OM officials could see the potential fee of 50 million francs for a permanent transfer or a one-year loan deal at 13 million francs, too good to refuse.

Strasbourg's Teddy Bertin is also a target, but the injury to striker Viorel Moldovan could yet mean that Nantes look at a forward.

"We are sure no one will sign before next week," said Budzinski. "And if the Moldovan is unavailable for a long time, we could look for a forward."
