Toulouse forward suffers thigh strain

Toulouse have confirmed that Emmanuel Riviere will not return to action until 2012 after suffering a thigh injury. The 21-year-old forward picked up a knock during Sunday's 3-2 defeat to Lyon and lasted just 36 minutes of that encounter before being forced from the field. Toulouse feared the worst and have now announced that Riviere is to take in a prolonged spell on the sidelines. Medical tests have discovered that the youngster has suffered a similar problem to that which kept him out for a spell in October. The former St Etienne man has been restricted to just eight appearances this season as a result of his niggling knocks. He will now be missing for the remainder of 2011, with Toulouse not expecting to have Riviere back in contention until Ligue 1 action resumes in the New Year following French football's winter break.
