Out-of-form duo Marseille and Auxerre claimed 1-0 victories over Valenciennes and Toulouse respectively.
Samir Nasri scored the crucial goal for Marseille after 60 minutes to give them a slender win and take them up to sixth place in Ligue 1.
In the day's early game, Belgium international Luigi Pieroni broke the deadlock for Auxerre after 48 minutes and they successfully held out for the three points.
The win was Auxerre's first in six games and lifts them one place to 13th, while Toulouse remain eighth.
