Toulouse midfielder Jeremy Mathieu admits he could be interested in a move to Roma if the conditions are right.
The talented 22-year-old has been one of the main reasons behind the Stadium Municipal's fine start to the new season in France, winning their way to fourth in Ligue 1.
While scouts from the Stadio Olimpico have been watching Mathieu's progress, the former Sochaux player insists any move would be based on several strict prerequisites.
"Being targeted by such a club makes me very happy," Mathieu told AFP.
"I heard about the possibility. But at the moment, I can't say I have had concrete contact with them. I haven't received a phone call from their directors.
"If I receive an offer I will not automatically decline. If Toulouse have not qualified for a European Cup next year, I could consider something else.
"This detail is key. I played European football with Sochaux and I want to experience it again."
Mathieu is set to face the team he left in the summer as TFC look to keep up their fine start to the season at home against the Stade Bonal outfit on Saturday.
