Championnat strugglers Toulouse are desperate to strengthen their squad during the winter break and have targeted Rennes duo Olivier Sorlin and Dominique Arribage.
Toulouse lie at the foot of the table and coach Eric Mombaerts is eager to inject some experience into his youthful squad.
Mombaerts has pinpointed Sorlin and Arribage as potential recruits next month along with Bastia forward Florian Maurice.
Sorlin has been in and out of the Rennes side this season and the midfielder may jump at the chance of regular football with Toulouse.
Rennes captain Arribage is an ambitious target but the defender's huge salary may tempt his club into doing business with Toulouse when the transfer window reopens.
The 32-year-old previously spent six years with Toulouse and could be persuaded to help his old club out of their current plight.
France international Maurice is another potential acquisition with Toulouse already having offered the forward a three-year contract.
