US Creteil-Lusitanos claimed the biggest shock of the Coupe de la Ligue third round when they beat Lens 2-0 on Tuesday.

Creteil, currently 15th in Ligue 2 - just three points off the relegation zone, saw off their top-flight opponents with two second-half goals to silence the majority of supporters assembled at the Stade de la Licorne.

Jean-Michel Lesage gave Creteil a 58th-minute lead and Ludovic Genest sealed a memorable victory for the Parisians when he slotted home three minutes from time.

Fellow Ligue 2 outfit AC Arles-Avignon secured a 3-2 extra-time victory over Reims at the Stade Auguste Delaune.

Nicolas De Preville opened the scoring in the 26th minute to give Reims a 1-0 lead, but Arles were level shortly after the hour mark when Mamadou Niang slotted past Reims keeper Kossi Agassa.

Teji Savanier put Arles 2-1 ahead in the 80th minute but Gaetan Courtet popped up with a last-gasp equaliser to initially spare Reims blushes before Arles midfielder Samuel Gigot was given his marching orders.

Extra-time ensued but Arles were rewarded for their spirited endeavour when Fawzi Ouaamar scored a 102nd-minute winner

Caen needed a goal at the end of extra-time to earn a 4-3 win over Clermont.

Remy Dugimont gave Clermont the lead four minutes into the second half but Caen were level six minutes later courtesy of Julien Feret's strike.

Ligue 2 strugglers Clermont then took the lead in the 62nd minute when Harry Novillo found the back of the net, but Mathieu Duhamel restored parity for Caen after 73 minutes.

Herve Bazile's 83rd-minute goal appeared to have secured Caen's progression to the fourth round but Keving Diogo ensured extra-time with an equaliser two minutes before the whistle.

Duhamel then broke Clermont hearts at the death with the winner in time added on in extra-time.

Nantes, meanwhile, hardly broke a sweat as they cruised to a 4-0 win against Ligue 2 side Stade Lavallois at home.

Les Canaris made a blistering start to the match at the Stade de la Beaujoire and were duly rewarded when Itay Shechter found the back of the net in the fourth minute.

Nantes doubled their advantage 12 minutes into the second half when Vincent Bessat slotted home and Ismael Bangoura added a third in the 72nd minute. Shechter added gloss to the victory with his second goal - and Nantes' fourth - in stoppage time.

Ajaccio made sure three Ligue 2 sides progressed into the fourth round when after they overcame Montpellier 1-0 at the Stade de la Mosson.

Mouaad Madri scored a minute before half-time to give Ajaccio the lead and, although Montpellier dominated possession, the Bears hung on to claim victory.

Lorient fought back from a goal down to secure a 2-1 victory over fellow Ligue 1 strugglers Evian at the Parc des Sports.

Hosts Evian were in front in the eighth minute through Daniel Wass, before Valentin Lavigne drew Lorient level in the 16th minute.

Jordan Ayew's 73rd-minute goal sealed victory for Lorient and ensured they progressed, while Evian's misery was compiled by Jonathan Mensah's late dismissal.

A second-half Djibril Cisse brace helped Bastia to a 3-1 victory against Auxerre at the Stade Armand Cesari.

Yannis Mbombo gave Auxerre the lead in the 13th minute, but Floyd Ayite equalised for Bastia in the 58th minute before Cisse scored twice in eight minutes to seal his side's place in the fourth round.

Goals from Nicolas Pallolis, Diego Contento and Cheick Diabate gave Bordeaux a 3-1 victory at Toulouse.

Jean-Daniel Akpa-Akpro pulled a goal back for the hosts in the 84th minute but it was too little, too late for the hosts.

Brodeaux had to play out the final half hour with 10 men after Pallolis was sent off for a second bookable offence.
