Lille full-back Mathieu Chalme has joined Bordeaux on a four-year deal.

Les Girondins have paid ‚é¼1.5million (£1m) for the 26-year-old, who started out at Bordeaux but failed to break into the first team at the Stade Chaban-Delmas.

Bolton were linked with Chalme earlier this summer, but he has now secured his dream move to Laurent Blanc's side.

"Everything was done very quickly," Chalme told French press. "When I heard that Bordeaux were interested in me, it became my priority.

"Lille knew what Bordeaux meant to me and I want to thank them for that. They made the transfer easy. I only had to negotiate my contract.

"Laurent Blanc wanted to sign me. It means that the coach wanted me, that is huge.

"I know Bordeaux very well. I might not need a lot of time to adapt there.

"PSG didn't contact me, only the press talked about it. Three clubs approached me and I am delighted to be with Bordeaux. My heart has spoken."
