Ricardo fears an injury to Henrique could scupper Bordeaux's bid to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

Les Girondins beat St Etienne 2-0 on Sunday to claim third spot in Ligue 1, but the win was soured by an injury to Henrique.

The centre-half was forced off in the second half with a knee problem and Bordeaux coach Ricardo is concerned the Brazilian will miss the remainder of the season.

"I fear the worst for Henrique," Ricardo told the French media.

"He was part of the players that played three matches this week and we see it can be dangerous at this part of the season.

"We appreciate our win, even if the Henrique injury tarnished the night."

Youngster Gabriel Obertan secured the win with Bordeaux's second goal in the last minute and he was delighted to open his account for the club.

Obertan said: "I scored my first goal in Ligue 1 - that is a dream that comes true.

"It has been huge, I was looking everywhere to know if it was true.

"With that win we come closer to the Champions League, we have to go on that way."
