Micoud to finish at Bordeaux

Johan Micoud has revealed he wanted to end his career with Bordeaux.

Former France international Johan Micoud has revealed he wanted to end his career with Bordeaux.

The 34-year-old, who counts Parma and Espanyol amongst his previous clubs, made a return to his former team last summer from Werder Bremen with the intention of closing his career with Les Girondins.

"Finishing my career here was my aim when I moved last summer," Micoud told the club's website.

"I still hope to play in the Champions League next season, it is mathematically possible.

"There are five points between second-placed Lens and us. We have played one less match than them and we will welcome them at the Stade Chaban-Delmas. We will do everything to finish in the top two.

"I have felt better since January. I have settled down with my family. Until that moment, we were living at a hotel so that wasn't easy.

"I needed time to adapt to the system but I think that I have played well in the last two or three matches."
