Bordeaux striker Lilian Laslandes could return to former club Nice next week, according to reports in France.
The veteran forward has made only seven starts for Bordeaux in the league this season and has been linked with a move away in the January transfer window.
Laslandes enjoyed a successful season at Nice in 2003/4 and Frederic Antonetti may try to bring him back to help the club stave off relegation.
Nice are currently second bottom in Ligue 1 and Antonetti's exasperation appears to be escalating by the day.
Antonetti has said he is ready to accept responsibility for Nice's poor results, but also warned his players that he will wield the axe in the New Year.
"This club is full of bombs, they are everywhere, but I am prepared to resist" he told Canal+.
"I will start rebuilding on January 2, but those who are always complaining won't be part of that.
"In our situation we need performing players, men, not cry babies.
"We have to eliminate them.
"I won't hesitate to take radical, but necessary, decisions."
