The Ligue 1 strugglers have already had two bids for the striker turned down, but under presssure boss George Eo is determined to get his man.

"We urgently need a goalscorer," Eo told Quest-France.

"Darcheville has the right profile and he could bring a lot to us. He's quick, strong and capable to fight alone against big defenders.

"He's played Ligue 1 football for 10 years, he's a regular for Bordeaux and has Champions League experience."

The 31-year-old former Nottingham Forest striker is out of contract at the end of the season and has already admitted he would consider offers that crop up during the January transfer window.

Meanwhile, Toulouse striker Francileudo Santos won't be joining Nantes, according to his agent.

Roger Henrotay says Nantes have pulled of out any deal for the striker because of question marks about his fitness.
