Bordeaux chairman Jean-Louis Triaud has said he will support coach Ricardo in the January transfer market.

Triaud was disappointed with Les Girondins' performance as they slumped to a 3-0 defeat at Lens on Saturday, and he is determined to help Ricardo strengthen the squad.

"We are not ambitious enough on the pitch," he told Sud-Ouest. "We lacked intelligence and did not play as a team.

"The problem is mental. They play like they are scared.

"If the coach wants to strengthen the team in certain areas, we will try to give him all the help he needs.

"But we aren't the only ones in the market for new players."

Meanwhile, Marc Planus has been ruled out for one month after undergoing knee surgery last week.

The defender, who has been plagued by injuries this term, picked up his latest problem in the 1-0 victory over St Etienne on November 25.
