Vladimir Smicer is eyeing the rest of the season with relish after making a return for Bordeaux reserves.
The former Liverpool star has been dogged by injuries over the last six months, missing the World Cup finals after failing to prove his fitness.
He has worked hard over the summer and can see a chink of light after turning out for the reserves.
"It is very good for the state of mind as I didn't play any match for seven months," said Smicer. "I resumed with the reserve team as forecasted, and I am happy feeling no pain and my thigh held on very well.
"Today I have the right behaviour, but I know I still have a lot of work to come back to my best level."
