Flamengo are believed to have rejected Bordeaux's overtures and are thought to be demanding ‚é¼4.6 million (£3.1 million) for his signature.
Renato is thought to have a buy-out clause in his contract and Bordeaux are ready to meet it so they can open talks with the attacking midfielder.
Meanwhile, former Bordeaux favourite Francois Grenet is back training with the club.
Grenet is currently without a club after seeing out his contract at Nice.
Several sides are thought to be chasing Grenet and the full back is keen to stay fit ahead of any proposed move.
