Nancy have made a bid to lure veteran Auxerre playmaker Yann Lachuer to the club for their upcoming Uefa Cup campaign.
The Coupe de la Ligue winners are keen to add experience to their ranks, and have identified the 33-year-old former Paris Saint Germain player as the man for Europe.
Lachuer helped AJA to sixth in Ligue 1 last season but chose not to renew his contract with new coach Jean Fernandez at the Stade Abbe-Deschamps, and so Nancy have stepped in.
"We have discussed financial arrangements," a Nancy spokesman told l'Est Republicain.
"We have made an offer. It's now up to him to choose."
The player has been linked with moves to Bordeaux, Nice and St Etienne since becoming available on a Bosman free transfer, but it is still not clear which of the Ligue 1 outfits he will opt for.
