Jemmali relishing the pressure

David Jemmali insists Bordeaux are not scared of the pressure being put on them in the race for a UEFA Champions League qualification place.
Bordeaux currently sit in second place in Ligue 1 five points ahead of Lille, and Jemmali is surprised, after such a poor season last year, that his team are relishing the pressures of qualifying for the Champions League.
"We are not scared of Lille, but they put pressure on us," Jemmali told Sud Ouest.
"But it is a positive pressure and we are very confident that we can put pressure on our rivals too.
"I didn't expect this season to be so great, especially after the black season we had last year.
"Our objective at the beginning of the season was to have a strong defence, and now we have that we have the confidence to go forward and score goals."
The 31-year-old has been excited by the club's signings and feels that everything looks positive and enthusiastic for the future.
"The signings we've made this year have been positive," he said.
"Some of us are 30 or 31 and we all train and learn like youngsters.
"People can't ask us to play like Barcelona, but we have played well since the beginning of 2006 and are enjoying the consistency."
