Bordeaux midfielder Rio Mavuba is to make his 50th consecutive appearance.

Bordeaux midfielder Rio Mavuba is continuing to attract attention with his displays in Le Championnat.

The France international will play his 50th consecutive game in Ligue 1 in Saturday's encounter with Sochaux.

At only 21 years of age, the defensive midfielder has been in Les Girondins' starting line-up since the last day of the 2003/2004 season.

The young talent has not missed a game since, steering clear of injury and suspension, and has become a key figure for Bordeaux.

Mavuba has been rewarded with international recognition and looks set to have a bright future in the game.
