New Valencia signing Mario Regueiro is determined to compete for every trophy going next season.

The Uruguayan winger moved to the Mestalla as a free agent after seeing out his contract with Racing Santander.

"My objective is to fight for all the titles possible," he stated.

"Valencia is a champion club and that was the reason I decided to leave Racing.

"This is an enormous opportunity to become an even better player.

"I am happy with the deal and am only thinking about triumphing at Valencia now."

Regueiro insisted he was not fazed by the prospect of competing with Spain international Vicente for a place in Valencia's first-team.

"Competition with Vicente? It's not a problem, it will be a great challenge for me," he continued.

"I am a player with a lot of ambition and I have not made the move to sit on the bench and earn more money."

Regueiro's decision to join Valencia has led Espanyol to step up their efforts to sign Bordeaux's Albert Riera.

The Catalan outfit also wanted to sign Regueiro, but will now seal a deal for former Mallorca man Riera after being beaten to the punch by Valencia.
