Paris Saint Germain goalkeeper Lionel Letizi has revealed that Espanyol have contacted him about a move to La Liga.

The Spanish outfit had been trying to land Ulrich Rame, but have turned their attention to Letizi after being rebuffed by the Bordeaux keeper.

Letizi, 31, still has one year left on his contract at Parc des Princes, but admits he is attracted by a move to Spain and has rejected a new contract from PSG.

"Cristobal (Parralo - Espanyol director of sport) called me during my holidays, to explain to me the club's project," he told L'Equipe.

"I told him I couldn't make a decision as I still have one year remaining on my PSG contract.

"To leave for abroad, it is now or next year, not later. Moreover, if I have to leave PSG, it will be for a foreign club.

"I would like my situation to be settled before the start of Le Championnat.

"I didn't accept the contract renewal. In my case, there are a lot of uncertainties about the season to come, so I want to keep the door open at the end of the season, just in case.

"I am now in a very important period. The season to come will orientate the end of my career."
