Manager Vahid Halilhodzic has agreed terms on a two-year contract with Greek striker Demis Nikolaidis and he could return to the club on Wednesday to sign the deal.
The 29-year-old had been linked with a switch to Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon, but now it seems as though his future lies in the French capital.
Ghanaian midfielder Mickael Essien (pictured) is the other player close to signing for the club.
Reports suggested that the 20-year-old had already signed for Halilhodzic's side but he is due to put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal on Tuesday, after PSG and Bastia agreed to the transfer.
Other targets include Bordeaux's Pauleta and Lille defender Eric Abidal, but players will have to be sold to balance the books.
Mauricio Pochettino could be on his way to either Benfica or Sporting Lisbon, while Jose Aloisio is eyeing a move to one of four clubs showing an interest - Benfica, Palmeiras, Flamengo or Internacional Porto Alegre.
Edouard Cisse, who has returned form a loan spell at West Ham United, could be loaned to Rennes, where he played a few years ago.
The Ronaldinho saga should become a lot clearer this week as a deal could be struck with Manchester United before the weekend.
PSG are keen to sell the player to raise funds and United are thought to be offering somewhere in the region of é¼28 million, which could rise to é¼35 depending on United's success over the forthcoming years.
